Glodent is a toothpaste specially developed by Group Pharmaceuticals Ltd with ingredients like Papain, Bromelian, Meswak, Neem, Fluoride and Xylitol. Glodent is the ideal toothpaste for daily use and there are many studies to prove its efficacy in reducing plaque & improving the shade of the teeth.
Miswak is an extract of Miswak plant, ‘Salvadore Persica’, the famous ‘toothbrush tree’ /’chewing stick’ used for centuries to clean teeth. It has scientifically been proven that the plant has unique medicinal properties that are good for oral hygiene. Studies have shown that Miswak has a strong antibacterial effect against all oral microorganisms associated with gum disease and Caries. Miswak extract also raises the plaque pH suggesting a potential role in caries prevention. The astringent and antibacterial properties of Miswak help to reduce tooth decay, fight plaque and prevent gum diseases. Miswak also aids in eliminating bad odor and freshening your mouth.
Xylitol is a natural sweetener found in fruits and vegetables. Unlike other sweeteners, Xylitol is a non-fermentable, non-acidogenic and non-cariogenic sweetening agent. It looks and tastes like sugar but doesn’t have a deleterious effect like sugar. Xylitol has been clinically proven to inhibit plaque, prevent cavities and maintain oral hygiene.
Xylitol reduces the amount of plaque and the number of bacteria in plaque. Another benefit of Xylitol is its synergistic effect when combined with sodium fluoride. Combination of sodium fluoride and Xylitol provides additional anticaries benefits. Glodent prevents cavities with the synergistic effect of Fluoride and Xylitol.
Bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme derived from Pineapple (Ananas comosus). Bromelain is a non-abrasive whitening agent. Proteolytic action of Bromelain helps to remove plaque and stains on the teeth. Bromelain also helps reduce inflammation associated with gum disease.
Papain and Bromelain work synergistically to break down the protein pellicle layer and disperses all the stains. Papain and Bromelain help remove pellicle and thereby prevent bacteria and stain accumulation on tooth surface.

Fluoride helps prevent cavities and strengthens the enamel. Fluoride makes the tooth enamel more resistant to demineralization by converting hydroxyapatite, a constituent of tooth enamel, into less soluble fluorohydroxyapatite, which is less susceptible to acid attack by plaque bacteria.
Fluoride promotes remineralization of tooth enamel in areas that have been demineralized, by forming fluoroapatite in demineralized areas of tooth.
Fluoride inhibits the ability of plaque bacteria to grow and produce acid that can attack the teeth. Glodent helps in preventing cavities with the synergistic effect of Fluoride and Xylitol.
Glodent is free from harsh abrasives and bleaching agents. The Relative Dentin Abrasivity of Glodent toothpaste is 75. Glodent can be used regularly and for long term to maintain glowing teeth and healthy gums.
